Russell Madness – an Exciting All-New Family Film!

rm

In celebration of today’s world-renowned pet holiday ‘Dress-Up Your Pet Day,’ Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Air Bud Entertainment, announced that the hilarious and heartwarming pet-filled, family adventure RUSSELL MADNESS, will make its Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD debut, on March 10, 2015.

RUSSELL MADNESS is produced by Air Bud Entertainment, the creative force behind the #1 live-action, direct-to-video movies in the family category.  The exciting, action-packed adventure introduces ‘Russell,’ a talking (and costume-wearing) Jack Russell Terrier who accidentally becomes a professional wrestling superstar, on the way to discovering the true power…of family.

The film stars John Ratzenberger (‘Toy Story,’ ‘Cars,’ TV’s Cheers), Fred Willard (TV’s Modern Family) David Milchard (TV’s Convos with my 2-Year Old), Mason Vale Cotton (TV’s Mad Men), McKenna Grace (TV’s Crash and Burn) and John Hennigan (former WWE star) along with the voices of talking animal stars including Will Sasso (TV’s ‘MadTV’ and ‘The Three Stooges’) and Sean Giambrone (TV’s The Goldbergs).  RUSSELL MADNESS is directed by ‘Air Bud’ and ‘Buddies’ veterans Robert Vince, written and produced by Robert Vince and Anna McRoberts.

RUSSELL MADNESS tells the story of Russell, an undersized but big-hearted terrier who dreams of having a family of his own. After running away from his current pet store residence, Russell gets taken in by The Ferraros, a family desperate to revive their grandfather’s pro wrestling arena. That’s when they discover their new pet pooch has incredible wrestling skills. With help from his coach, Hunk, a savvy and hilarious monkey, Russell rockets to the top of the pro wrestling world and becomes a famous sports superstar. But when a dishonest promoter double-crosses the Ferraros, Russell will face his biggest challenge and discover that the strongest tag team is family.

Call Me Nellie!

Nellie_blog graphic

Call me Nellie. Or as my mom calls me: Nellie Bean, Miss Trouble Maker, Snuggle Bug, Honey Bunny and Nellie Belly. For some reason, my dad calls me Stinky. I don’t stink all the time (only when I find something to roll in in the backyard) so I’m not sure why that’s his favorite.

This story is all about ME! I love to sleep and I guess I’ve been caught in some funny sleeping positions. So here’s a photo montage of me and my sleeping or laying positions. Woof!

I like to sleep…

Treat a Shelter!

NOMINATE YOUR FAVORITE SHELTER OR RESCUE TO WIN A YEAR’S SUPPLY OF DOG TREATS

Dog for Dog has EXTENDED the nomination period one week through Friday August 22nd!

DOG for DOG announces the launch of their nationwide  “Treat a Shelter” giveaway on Tuesday August 6th, 2014. The giveaway is being hosted on the DOG for DOG  Facebook page (www.facebook.com/dogfordog) and the company is directing everyone to nominate their favorite shelter or rescue for a chance to win a combination of their DOGTREATS™ and DOGSBARS™ to be donated to the shelter or rescue for an entire year. Nominations are being accepted from August 4-15, 2014.  DOG for DOG will narrow down the nominations to the top 50 finalists and allow fans to vote for them via Facebook. Final voting is from August 18-24, 2014.  The 20 shelters and rescues to receive the most votes will each receive treats for an entire year.

To engage in a huge nationwide contest like this where every shelter and rescue across the country has a chance at winning, requires major corporate participation and Cathay Bank has agreed to support our cause and cover the costly shipping expenses of the prizes that will be shipped to winners.  Additionally, Walgreens will be carrying DOG for DOG treats in select stores for a limited time, and The Hollywood Reporter helping spread the word by featuring DOG for DOG in their special pet issue in August.

“Having wonderful supporters like Cathay Bank is crucial to DOG for DOG, as it allows us to run these types of contests which gives us the ability to help more dogs in need. Without their commitment, this type of contest wouldn’t be possible,” commented Rocky Kanaka, Founder and President of DOG for DOG.

The “’Treat a Shelter” giveaway follows on the heels of the company’s hugely successful Feed A Shelter contest which ran earlier this summer and selected a deserving shelter to receive a year’s supply of the company’s DOGSFOOD™. Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans, LA was picked as the grand prize winner based on fan votes.

DOG for DOG is a mission based dog food company with the mantra “You Buy One, We Give One.” For every bag of the company’s food or treats you buy one is donated to a shelter or rescue in your area. DOGTREATS™ are all natural, made in the USA and offered in a variety of flavors. In addition to DOGSTREATS™ and DOGSBARS™, the company offers a line of premium grade dry dog food, DOGSFOOD™ as well as DOGSBUTTER™. The company’s product line uses high-quality ingredients. Walgreens will be carrying the DOGSTREAT™ line in their stores for a limited time in support of the contest. The full line of DOG for DOG products can be found  at retailers across the country and on dogfordog.com.

What IS that thing?!

When Nellie was a puppy, she had her own “room”. Well, it was actually the entry way going from the garage into the house, complete with a french door so she could see out into the living room and kitchen! She had a nice little bed, her food and water dishes, her toy bin, and it was tiled so it was always nice and cool in the summer – what’s not to love about that!

Nellie has a spunky little attitude, which sometimes would get her in trouble… One night, for one reason or another, she was told she had to sleep in her room  instead of by my side in the bed. She willingly went to her room, curled up on her bed, I shut the door and went back to bed. About a minute later, it’s nice and peaceful, still, and I’m about ready to fall asleep, when all of a sudden: “boing, boing, BOING”! “NELLIE!!!” A couple minutes of silence went by, then “boing, boing”.

I was about ready to unscrew that door-stop! Thankfully she grew out of it. She has got to have one of the most interesting personalities in a dog I’ve ever seen.

So when we saw this video of a puppy having fun with the door-stop, it brought back those memories of when Nellie was a puppy getting into mischief! The Adventures of Nellie – never a dull moment…
